one wild ride

Isn't this face the cutest and sweetest thing you've ever seen? Well, it is for me, but boy, that sweet face covers a very, opinionated, stubborn little brain! I'm in for quite a ride being Sawyer's mother! He already is so stinking particular about things. I'm pretty sure it has already been mentioned how picky he is with drinking from straw cups versus bottles, water or juice versus milk. But along with that today Sawyer showed me how picky he really can be! For dinner I got him some veggies cooked up and then got him some wheat bread. He hates veggies generally and loves bread. As usual he spit out the veggies and threw them to the floor, so I just threw up my hands and put them away. I started breaking up his bread so it would be easier for him to eat and he had a conniption fit! So, I just ate my half of the bread and he kept making his want noises and signing eat. So, I tried to hand him a small piece again and once again he threw a fit, flapping around and screaming. So, I ate a little more. Once again, he was making his "I want noises" so this time I set down a whole piece of bread on his tray without breaking it up. He stopped freaking out and immediately turned and smiled at me. He then proceeded to chomp away on the full piece of bread and threw the little pieces away on the floor. Oh my.

Another little side not, Sawyer is once again sick! I swear that boy gets sick every two weeks. Instead of the eye and nose infections this past month he has just been getting higher and higher fevers. Yesterday and today his fevers have been consistently above 101. The high was 104! I just wish I knew why, I even took him into the doctors yesterday and they couldn't find anything. Sometimes I think I, or Sawyer, might be a hypochondriac. All kidding aside, I am tired of having a sick baby! and I'm also tired and embarrassed for taking him to the doctors so frequently! He is hard work! It's a good think he does have such a stinkin cute face and a funny sweet boy. It makes his freak outs tolerable and fairly funny.

  1. Oh Jenny! What a crazy kiddo! He sounds a lot like Jay has been. I think I spend half my day trying to figure out what that kid wants. They are sure worth the work though.
I do hope he gets better soon and you guys get to the bottom of his fevers.
Hang in there Mama. You are doing a great job.

  2. I love reading about sawyer. Kimball was very hard also, cholic and reflux etc. I just wanted to tell you, they are a LOT easier the older they get. Each stage he was happier, and especially when he could talk b/c the things he would tell me, I would have never just guessed!
I'm sorry he's been sick so much! If it wasn't fevers, I would guess he's allergic to the pets it's so constant.
