One thing that I've always known is how sweet Sawyer is. As he grows up it is more noticeable. Yes, he thinks he needs to control everything. Yes, he is super stubborn. But, he is very thoughtful and loving.
While I was pregnant with Elliot, there was several times I couldn't play with Sawyer how he wanted me to. I would tell him I couldn't because my tummy was too sick and hurt from the baby. He would cry and run up to me and say, "Sorry, Mommy! Sorry mommy!" and then kiss my belly button and look up at me with his hands out and then say, "all bebba!" (all better!)
He loves gift giving whether he is on the giving or receiving end. Anytime we go to buy birthday presents or something for someone he insists on choosing. It's extraordinarily helpful and he does a really great job on choosing stuff. He also loves to pick flowers, leaves, sticks, or collect rocks to give to people because he likes to share things that he loves.
Then when he is on the receiving end he remembers who the gift giver is forever. He will bring me one of his toys or clothes and tell me who gave whatever it is to him. Then he will say thank you and then the name of the gift giver. For example, he just got an etch-a-sketch from one of his aunts for his birthday. Every time he looks at it he says, "tant ooo tortnee!" and then a few months ago his uncle put in a ceiling fan in his room. Every time we walk in his room he points to it and says, "Mommy, my fan! Adroo, my fan! Tant ooo Adroo!" And there are several more examples. So, if you have ever given something or done something for Sawyer, know that he notices and appreciates it and I hear about it. And I too, notice and appreciate it...so Thank You everyone!
At night he wants to give every living thing in my house several kisses and hugs goodnight (dogs, cat, mom and dad...and now Elliot.) It's sweet, but it makes the bedtime routine a LOT longer :)
