July 2011

It is amazing how in July Sawyer all of the sudden turned into a little boy. He talks a lot and a lot more clearly. He climbs EVERYTHING! For example, he found a few pennies on the floor and I asked him if he wanted to go put it in his alligator bank. He all of the sudden went away. A few minutes later I went into his room expecting to help him up on his dresser so he could put in the pennies, but to my surprise he was already up there and had fed the pennies to the alligator.

He also likes to pretend to be "Daddy." He gets Jake's shirts, shoes, ties, hats and glasses and walks around like he owns the place.

He also started using his imagination a lot. He pretends to be animals and creates things, like trains from box stuffing.

He also is super obsessed with trains. He walks around the house saying "choo choo, choo choo." We went to the library and Sawyer chose a bunch of train books. He slept with one in particular train book for a full week and a half. He didn't want any other books, bedtime songs or anything. All he wanted to do was get in bed and read his book by himself. He would instantly pucker his lips for a kiss and say "ba bye!" and wave me away!

He also started walking up and down the stairs. He says "I'm BIG!" and up and down he goes. Unfortunately because of this, my neighbors got quite a show the other morning. I was in the shower and Sawyer was wandering around. All of the sudden I hear, "Big!" then a little bit later, "BOOM!" "WAAAAAAAAAH" So of course, I jump out of the shower and run dripping wet and naked down the stairs to my kitchen with all the windows wide open, where Sawyer is sprawled on the floor. Don't worry though...Sawyer only had a bloody nose and black eye...I also don't think any of my neighbors threw up from seeing anything :)

And his new favorite sentence he says ALL the time, "NO! I DO IT!"
He definitely is getting more independent.
