First Haircut or Grandmas' wish come true

Well both of Sawyer's grandmothers have been wanting him to get a haircut for a while now, but I just couldn't part with his mad scientist hair. I loved the thin frizzy wild waves. Today, they got their wish though...

We were driving my mother home after a long day cleaning out the garage. Sawyer asked for some gum. He has been obsessed with gum for the past few weeks and is so good with it. He has only swallowed it a couple times and he will throw it in the garbage when he is done. There has never been any problems before. Today, however, he realized it is sticky. He was sticking it to his hands thinking it was hilarious. I saw him in the rear-view mirror and told him to either put it in his mouth or Grandma Meakin would take it...well, Grandma ended up needing to take it, but unfortunately we were in the car and he put up a fight. She only got a portion of it and then he was playing with the stretched stringy part. Grandma made the comment, "Sawyer careful or it will get in your hair." He must have thought that was a great idea because of course he immediately started wiping it through his hair.

We got to Grandma's and started putting peanut-butter in his hair trying to get it out. It was no use. So out came the scissors and razor and off came his waves.

He started out okay with having his hair cut. Then he got tired of sitting still. I don't think he really liked how it felt in back because he kept freaking out yelling "NO!" and shaking his head while Grandma cut the back. He was happy when it was finished.

He bathed and then helped vacuum up. When he saw his hair on the chair he said, "my hair!" Then it got vacuumed up. He started crying over it. "Mommy, oh-oh! Vacuum, my hair! NO! Mommy, my hair, get it! The Vacuum!"
