Well the first week of February, Jake was in Portland with another photographer, Steven. I had my mom stay a few days while he was out of town. Well, February first was a Tuesday and I had pack meeting. My mom was there and we were getting ready to go. I told Sawyer to come over by me so we could get his shoes and coat on. He stood right up and walked all the way around the room like he had been doing it his entire life. This was the first time he has taken more than 1 step. Before it was step and dive. He was walking if he help on to things, but he had been doing that for the past 6 months. I was so surprised. I didn't know if it really happened. Coincidently as soon as he did it Jake called and I told him. He was so bugged he missed it! So he told me to send him a video. I wasn't sure if he would do it again, but sure enough...the rest of the night he was walking around like little zombie. Then at scouts he was about to walk over to me when someone ran in front of him and it scared him. He then refused to walk around for the rest of the night and it was limited the next day. When Jake got home Sawyer refused to walk again for 2 days. He was probably saying "That'll teach Dad going somewhere without me!"
Then like ever other month sickness visited our house. He also grew in a few molars. SO that was fun for sleeping.
He also started going to nursery, even though it was a little more than a month too early. Thanks guys for taking him anyway! He does great in there. He loves his teacher Ben (I don't know his last name) and follows him everywhere. The 2nd week of going he saw the church and immediately signed bubbles and fish. He must have remember that in nursery they blow bubbles and eat gold fish. He was pretty excited to go and so was I!
We also have done more dog training in the month of February. Sawyer loves to help with the training. We play hide and seek with them to help with recall. He gets so excited for them to come. His favorite part is clicking the clicker and then giving them treats. He gets mad when I won't let him keep giving them treats. He also likes to help "walk" them down the hall. We are working with them behaving while on leash. The next step will be to take them outside! He tries to help with the "leave it" command but he gets mad when they get close to smell his hand.
We've played with cousins in February too. Ashton and Bris came for a while and once again Sawyer panicked when we put kids down for a nap. He loves his cousins SO SO much! He is starting to play a little nicer with them too, but for the most part he is still a little bully. It doesn't help that every single one of his cousins his age just let him get away with it. None of them react when he hits them or takes things from them. It's really hard teaching him that it isn't okay behavior!
I have started running with one of the neighbors early in the morning, so Sawyer comes along. He loves it. On the off days I think he gets cabin fever because it is still too cold to be outside much. I feel sort of bad for taking him running because he's been a little sick and his hands and cheeks get SO SO cold. Everything else stays really bundles, but he doesn't seem to mind at all. I think running in the cold is adding to his excema though because it is really really bad this month.
I did get him a humidifier this month that he loves. It is a frog and he knows how to turn it on. He loves sniffing in the vapors. He also signs frog and clicks his tongue every time he sees it or another frog. (I don't know why he clicks his tongue, but that is his frog noise. He has several animal noises now...moo, woof, raaarh for anything from alligator to lion, meow, brrrrrrr for elephant)
