7 months

Sawyer turned 7 months a week ago. He just is growing up so fast. On his 6 month doc appointment he weighed 17.5lbs. By 7 months he is a whopping 20 lbs. He also started learning things so fast. One week he just started rolling everywhere. He isn't crawling yet, but he scoots in circles. He also has learned that he really wants to walk around...too bad he can't yet. When Mom tries to sit him down he locks his knees and arches his back so he stays standing and then starts moving his legs until she helps him walk forward. Then he'll start smiling and screaming. If he looses, and she just ends up laying down on his back or belly he just cries and cries. He also learned how to drink out of a straw. His mom decided he needed to drink out of SOMETHING for times he had a babysitter. So, she tried, bottles, sippy cups, and he would take none of them. He would drink out of a regular cup, but that is too messy. Straws seemed like a good alternative and he got it down in a week. We now have those spill free straw cups and he loves them...unfortunately he still won't take milk or formula in them, but if it is water or juice he gets really excited to drink out of them. Oh well, what can you do?

This past month has also been an adventurous one. Sawyer got to go on his very first plane ride on a trip to Hawaii. He loved the plane and was an angel the whole way there and back...which was impressive for the way back because he was sick and his ears were bothering him :( As for Hawaii he loved the warm weather, napping by the ocean, walking around outside, seeing the little lizards, watching all the people at the beach and pools, and the food. He, however, HATEDED the water whether it was the pool or the ocean. He started adjusting to the pool (when we just sat there away from everyone) by the end of the week. He also wasn't a fan of sitting in the grass. But he didn't mind sitting in the sand.
He looked pretty cool just chillin' at the beach in his swim suit, hat and sunglasses. The funniest thing about him wearing his glasses and hat was that he didn't like the feeling of the hat on, but he wouldn't take it off all the way. (and he can and does when he's playing which made this even funnier) Instead of leaving it on his head or taking it off...He held it just above his head ALL week. Here is a pic.
