Month two of Sawyer was an exciting one. We finally rid ourselves of thrush, but gave it to our dog...or at least we think we did. Sawyer had one more week of his diflucan when I took Dosh to the vet with a yucky ear. He happened to have a yeast infection in it and the only was I can think of him getting it is by licking Sawyer's mouth all the time and then cleaning himself.

Sawyer and Dosh sharing: blamkets, naps, and thrushSome of Sawyer's favorite things to do in the second month was to sit in his bouncer or swing, stand, wiggle, stare at the wall or blinds, and hold his breath. Most of the time when he got upset all he needed to calm down was to stare at the blinds. If the blinds could have fed him, he wouldn't have needed parents at all. Sometimes they didn't quite calm him down and at that point he would work on his lung capacity by holding his breath until he turned a purplish blue. (video at the bottom) One time in particular, he held it a little too long and all of the sudden his eyes rolled back and all the blood went away from his face as he passed out. Luckily he was on the floor getting his diaper changed and luckily when a person passes out the body automatically starts breathing again. So, he was fine.
Breathe Baby Sawyer. Breathe!By the second month, Sawyer was working on smiling. Mostly he would smile while he slept, but the week he turned 2 months he started smiling at the blinds (like I said, he loves them) and Dosh. Forget about smiling at people though!

Oh sweet Sawyer! What a cutie!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I think if my baby ever did that I might have a heart attack! Thankfully my kids have other delightful ways of expressing anger, throwing toys, hitting, slamming doors. Sometimes I miss those baby days! :D
