Just found this written by Jake...(December 2010)

I'm sitting here on Christmas eve and I'm excited for my son's very first Christmas, and my first Christmas as a Dad.

Sawyer had a Christmas last year, but he was a newborn so he didn't know what day it was... but this year he definitely knows, he can't talk but he knows he has presents and he WANTS them too, grabbing them, crying when Mom takes them away... that sort of thing. So it will be fun to see him open them and not get in trouble! Watch him soak in the excitement of a thousand cousins going wild during the celebration on Christmas Day, a memory I know fondly from when I was little... going to Grandma's house with all my cousins... memories so deep that today, 25+ years later, I can vividly recall arranging a sleepover with Tyson so that we could play with all our new Star Wars toys together... well... almost a sleepover, if only I had remembered to bring my blanket.
The 25-year memories are rare in life, and as we drive to Sawyer's Grandma and Grandpa's tomorrow I'll find myself wondering when will Sawyer have his first 25-year memory? He won't know how special those moments are, not for awhile at least. After all, I'm just barely figuring it out now...

Jake
PS - I'm also excited for the day I get to tease my son about wanting his blanket. From what I've seen it seems like a lot of fun for everyone.
