Sawyer at 11 months you are still crawling. You try to say a few words: kitty, doggy, mom, no. You also sing and dance. You started to wave goodbye. It is still a little unpredictable. You usually have to be going the opposite direction from the other person before you will wave goodbye. You use your entire arm for it and your hand is limp. It is one of the cutest things ever. You have become a pointer and grunter for things you want to hold, eat, look at or show people (like your Grandpa Joe when he's at the dinner table.) You started to count pictures in books. For example, in "Oh the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Suess there is a page with four elephants. You love to point out the elephants one by one going :"ah ah ah ah". When we read any book that has a car in it you love to point out the cat. In "I'll Love You Forever" there is a cat on every page and you know exactly where it is at. You get really excited to go upstairs because at the top of the landing are You Mom and Dad's engagement pictures. You love pointing at Mom and Dad. You are becoming a very opinionated, but funny little man. I think you are a lot like your dad...which is a good thing, but it will be a roller coaster ride for me, as your mom.
Some of the adventures we had this past month was Taste of the Town at Layton Park...you loved it because you got to eat tons of delicious food. Then there was Party on the Boulevard, which you also loved because of the lizard show and the Canine Unit show, plus you got to see lots of people. You did get sick and we thought it was the chicken pox, but it wasn't. It was a similar rash...it didn't come to a head or anything, but you were still itchy and miserable for a week. Grandma Garn brought you your alligator and you loved it. Thanks grandma Garn! You tagged along on some of Mom's old high school friends' wedding receptions. For cub scouts we got to go to the fire station, which you thought was so cool. We had a play date with the Piercy's and found out you are terrified of slides at the park...don't worry, I'm trying to teach you that they are fun. You also stopped nursing and started taking a bottle. It was one rough week trying to get you to take it. You held out for 5 days before you would drink anything. I think that is about it.
Amen to the roller coaster ride if he is like his dad. It will be a lot of fun and I can certainly help you learn what NOT to do!! There is so much I would do differently knowing what I know now.
